AN ATLAS OF ECONOMIC EXPOSURE
Three public series.
One chain of events.
Climate and geopolitical shocks move prices, flows and balance sheets in sequences that sit in public data nobody puts side by side. Each week, ShockAtlas crosses three of those series, names the mechanism, documents the organisations on the chain with public evidence, and dates the hypotheses so they can be checked.

Two administered cocoa prices, one border: the EU customs ledger will show whether Ivorian beans go to Ghana
Côte d'Ivoire pays its farmers CFAF 1,200 per kilogram for the 2026/27 main crop and Ghana pays GH¢42,400 per tonne, a gap of about 1.5 USD/kg in Ghana's favour, the reverse of 2023/24. The world price behind both fell from 10.75 USD/kg in January 2025 to 3.24 in March 2026 and recovered to 5.92 in September, and EU27 imports of beans from Ghana reached 28,083 t in August 2026 against 5,459 t a year earlier. This edition reads the EU customs ledger by origin to see which way the beans go, and who sits on each route.
